What is app smashing???

What is “APP Smashing.” This is a term coined by Greg Kulowiec. It simply means to use multiple apps to complete a project  Take a look at the examples below of App Smashing.

Examples of App Smashing:

Here is a great example of creating a vocabulary project using Story Maker HD, Balloon Stickies Free and Pic Collage

Here is an example of using Thinglink to create a class project, where their individual projects are attached to their image.
Here is an example of app smashing that I did using the apps:  Feltboard mother goose app and Educreations

What I did to creat it....I went to Feltboard mother goose, I made a scene and did a screenshot from my iPad.  I then downloaded the screenshot of the scene to educreations and recorded my voice to make the scene.   Educreations is an awesome teaching tool!

Tiny Tap-FREE educational app

I have to share with you an awesome FREE educational app for early-childhood students.  It is called Tiny Tap.  It is so easy to make games for your students.  I made a game:  Parts of a plant and it was so easy and fun.  My students made the game with me and are very excited about Tiny Tap.  You can use it on your iPhone or iPad.  Check it out!  Here is a little info about it!

About the App:
TinyTap is an easy method of creating an activity or quiz for students and can provide teachers or students an easy tool for creating “games”. Editing is also easy for teachers to perform during production or at a later time. For students it provides a simple, interactive game for answering questions or a study method for some students.   It is a spring-board for ideas to create interactive differentiated content.

How can I use it?
  • Use it to build interactive quizzes
  • Use it to build activities for reviewing information or introducing content.
  • Use to tell a story, or for retelling.
