GoNoodle Brain Breaks

These brain breaks have definitely helped my students focus better during core instruction.  After each subject, I try to put on a brain break so they are ready to focus on the next subject!

TNT presentation

I am an ITEC teacher, which is a teacher who received a tech grant, and I am required to present at our local technology conference.
Of course, as soon as I turn on my iPad before the presentation, my iPad freezes.  The good thing is that I did have some pics on my powerpoint to show them.
One teacher took my advice and downloaded every app that I suggested.  I even helped her recover an app that has her father's voice(who recently passed away.)  She was so thankful and if I could have helped at least one teacher yesterday, then I did something great!!
I was so excited to see my teacher friend and blogger, Jasmine at my presentation.  You probably know her if you are a blogger.
Check out her blog!

I presented a class on Awesome free and paid apps that are not subject specific and can be used with all subjects and aligned with common core standards.  I also talked about a few Promethean tips as well.  I am attaching the powerpoint if anyone would like to check out the ideas that I shared.  If you have any questions, you can email me at:  krazyaboutteaching@gmail.com
I hope that you like it and I will be posted on what I learned at the conference!Click the link below to send you to slideshare.

Core knowledge "tricky words" idea

Anyone using core knowledge? For the "tricky words," one of my teammates suggested that we find a song that says "tricky".. One of the 1st grade teachers in our district cut the song by Run DMC for our students when we introduce the "tricky" words, they are going to love this!!

A cheap ten frame idea

Need a cheap ten frame idea?  I have been saving up my old egg cartons and I just cut the top and lid of them (shown in the first picture above) and use them in my math center.
I bought the suddenly salad noodles because of the two different colors.  You can also color the noodles but this was a quick, easy, and CHEAP way (as a teacher, you know how I feel about cheap)
A fellow teacher also suggested using Wacky Mac colored rotini pasta.  Thanks alishalikestoteach!
