Lorax Trees
I have a Dr.Suess themed classroom. I have seen some ideas on making Lorax trees using swimming noodles but I was trying to think about what I can use at home to make the trees. I had plenty of wrapping paper rolls and I decided to try those. I bought two different colors of the Scotch masking tape. I went to Party City and bought the tissue flowers. I hot glued the items to the wall and Voila....3D Lorax trees:)

Introducing Skype in the Classroom
So sorry that it has been so long since my last post. We have had new changes to our curriculum(3 to be exact) and our district is trying to make another change but this change will be permanent for years.
I am now a technology showcase teacher and my assistant principal sent me a link for Skype in the classroom. I checked it out, made an account and it sent me to the site that you can request certain authors to connect with you. Immediately, I was getting messages from authors who were interested in skyping with my 1st graders.
Yesterday, we had our first visit with author Allison Crotzer Kimmel. My students were so excited and they were able to ask her questions and she talked about the importance of reading. I already have two more authors scheduled and another class that we will be talking to. I am so excited for this opportunity for my students. You have to check it out!
