Another Office Depot Haul

Another Sunday Office Depot haul.. All of this for $8.00!!!
First of all, make sure that you have a Teacher Star reward card from Office depot.  You have to spend $5.00 minimum but it is so worth going.  Every teacher loves Ticonderoga pencils.  I grade with markers so the Crayola markers were a big deal.  They were .25 and some of the other items were .01.  The pencils and the reinforced looseleaf paper were $1.00 but it was still a great deal!

If you follow Ashley Schroeder on Periscope then you definitely know how awesome she is!  I just watched her youtube video on how she makes her fonts and images into decorations for her classroom.

Tech camp day 3

If you have been following me on social media, especially Periscope, I have posted lots of videos of  the activities that the students have done over this past week.  My first tech camp is complete.  I was worried with the 5th and 6th graders because I usually teacher first graders but I have to say that I enjoyed them so much!  We had an excellent group and they even taught me things about coding.  We have some talented students in our district.  Students have already made their own games.  I can't say enough about how much fun I had this past week...I'm exhausted but I had fun lol  I can't wait until next summer!

Student is using a program to code:  www.made with code.com

Student using www.tinkercad.com to design their 3D printing project.

The two above pics are of our tech campers trying to figure out Breakoutedu.
You can also use the online version www.breakoutedu.com/digital.

Tech camp day 2

First picture above is of one of our campers who is looking for images online to design his 3D project.  He will then go to the program Tinkercad to design his project.

This student is coding a project from Tynker.

The 3 above pictures are students using the virtual reality glasses.

These students are coloring pictures from the website www.quivervision.com
Then the students scan the color sheets using the Quiver app.  This is an augmented reality activity.

First Grade Helpers and a little diary.....

Yes......
It is only July.....
and yes......
I am already having dreams of school.....
I actually had one yesterday that I was going to have 30 students in my class-lol
Most of my teacher friends said that would be a nightmare, not a dream!!
I really don't want to get so stressed at the beginning of the year because it will come fast.
I am working at a tech camp, on a few summer DCA committees, going to a lesson plan training, and training to be a Seesaw ambassador...whew....
Also, son is in tournament baseball and I Periscope and I'm on Theteacherblabshow on blab.  Yes, I don't know how to say no or slow down. I figure that life is too short and if you have opportunities, you need to take them right?  I am always wanting to learn and the only way to do that is to be a part of many things.  Social Media is a BIG part of it!  I have met so many teachers and has made so many friends out of social media that I don't regret one bit of it!  I have learned so much and I love collaborating with all of you!
This is one thing that i'm working on...
I print this up every year.  It is from Michelle Oakes.  Click on the picture to take you to her TPT link.  It is $2.50 and it is so worth it(it is on sale on 7/3 and 7/4 for $2.00.)  I just print them from my home computer, laminate them with my personal laminator, and trim the ends.  I usually let the students put them in their binders/folders.  Sometimes, students end up just putting them in their desk and pull them out for quick reference.  I hope you all have a wonderful summer!
